Bessie Ann Morehead Brown, 73, of the first block of Greenland Blvd., died May 15, 1995, in a Portsmouth hospital.
A native of Rocky Gap, Va., she was the widow of Edward Q. Brown. She was retired as a planner and estimator for General Electric and was a member of Bethany Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son, R. Edward Brown of Excelsior Springs, Mo.; a stepdaughter, Ina D. Brown of Suffolk; three sisters, Phyllis Radford of Princeton, W.Va., Sue Bartel of Bluefield, W.Va., and Carol Mahoney of Pittsburgh; four brothers, Marshall Morehead of Bland, Va., Richard Morehead and Harry Morehead, both of Bastian, Va., and Max Morehead of Richmond; and three grandchildren.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, by the Rev. Gene V. Primm. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. today.
