ONIS B. BASS JR.

Onis Baxter Bass Jr., 75, of the 5600 block of Tidewater Drive, a retired estimator, died May 14, 1995, in a Norfolk hospital.

Mr. Bass was born in Richmond and was the widower of Ruth M. Bass. He was a lifelong member of Woodland Heights Baptist Church in Richmond and attended Hyde Park Free Will Baptist Church in Norfolk. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of VFW Ocean View Post (NU)3160 in Norfolk.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Pamela A. and Cecil A. Pool of Sandston, Va.; a stepdaughter and her husband, Katherine and Ed Blackburn of North Carolina; two stepsons and their wives, Alton and Lois Tillman of Virginia Beach and Alex and Mona Tillman of Chesapeake; two sisters, Marguerite Krewatch of Richmond and Virginia Motley of Danville, Va.; two grandchildren, Christopher Stults and Stacy Morgan, both of Sandston, Va.; one great-grandchild; six stepgrandchildren; and one stepgreat-grandchild. Special thanks to a special friend, Sherry Foreman of Norfolk.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Maury Cemetery, Richmond, by the Rev. Robert E. Thompson. The family will receive friends in the funeral home today from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 4 to 8 p.m.
