Baker R. Dolberry, 78, of the 700 block of C Ave., a retired self-employed carpenter, died May 13, 1995, in Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.
Mr. Dolberry was born in Oak City, N.C. He was the son of the late Joanna and James Dolberry and was the widower of Nellie Mae Dolberry. He was a member of New Calvary Baptist Church and was an Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include a daughter, Betty M. Phelps of Chesapeake; an adopted son, Eugent Gant of Norfolk; a brother, Eddie Dolberry of Halifax, N.C.; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Agnus Dolberry of Scotland Neck, N.C.; and a host of nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday in New Calvary Baptist Church by the Rev. Gilbert G. Campbell Jr. Burial will be in Hampton National Cemetery. The body will be taken to church at 11 a.m. Hale Funeral Home is in charge.
