Jacob Newsome, 68, of the 100 block of Hatton St., died May 15, 1995, in Portsmouth.
Mr. Newsome was born in Virginia and was a Baptist.
Survivors include a daughter, Toynessia Wilson of Portsmouth; two sons, Melvin Cannon and Leon Cannon, both of New York; nine grandchildren, including Shanequa Wilson of Portsmouth; eight stepgrandchildren; three stepdaughters, Texanna Wilson, Keesha Wilson and Katina Wilson, all of Portsmouth; and a stepson, Thurman Wilson of Portsmouth.
A funeral will be conducted at noon Friday in Serenity Funeral Home, Portsmouth, by Dr. T.M. Steele. Burial will be in Pleasant Shade Cemetery, Newport News.
