Stella G. ``Sister'' Sykes, 59, of the 22500 block of Meherrin Road, died May 14, 1995, in Southampton Memorial Hospital, Franklin.
A native of Southampton County, Mrs. Sykes was a member of East End Apostolic Faith Church in Franklin, the Missionary Society, Church Choir and Usher Board.
Survivors include her husband, Harry D. Sykes Sr.; two daughters, Lisa O. Johnson-Lawrence of Courtland and Juana Seymore of Norfolk; three sons, Harry D. Sykes Jr., and Daniel W. Sykes, both of Franklin, and Joe T. Sykes of Newport News; four sisters, Lillian Williams of Courtland, Barbara Ellsworth and Bessie Rountree, both of New York, and Margaret Myrick of Suffolk; four brothers, Leroy Ellsworth of Norfolk, Willis Ellsworth of Newsoms, Herbert Ellsworth and Louis Ellsworth, both of Courtland; and 13 grandchildren.
A funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Thursday in East End Apostolic Faith Church by Bishop Stephen C. Willis. Burial will be in Care Memorial Gardens, Courtland. Engram Funeral Home is in charge.
