David N. Hepburn, 78, died of complications from long-term medical problems while living in Chesapeake, Va., with his wife at their son's home.
A well-known cemeterian in California and nationally for over 50 years, Mr. Hepburn is survived by his wife, Jacqueline and four children, 13 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Dave Jr. (Bobbi), Huntington Beach, Calif.; Pam (Jack) Clinton, Washington; Rick (Debby), Chesapeake, Va.; and Marianne (Paul), Freeland, Washington.
Born and raised in southern California, Mr. Hepburn was owner of Grand View Memorial Park in Glendale, Calif., and owner of Triple H. Company for more than 45 years. He also served in the Army Air Corps during World War II. After retiring in 1993, he and his wife took a motor home tour of the USA and settled in Chesapeake, Va., to be with their youngest son and family.
Over the years, Mr. Hepburn was involved in many business and community groups. He was president of the Interment Association of North America and was director of the local Red Cross and chairman of the Disaster Relief Organization. He was active in many local city issues, president of the Optimist Club and a lifelong Republican.
In later years, his greatest pleasure was watching the development of his four children, his grandchildren and more recently his great-grandchildren.
A memorial service for family and friends will be held May 25, 1995, at the Lutheran Church of the Foothills in La Canada, Calif. Final interment will be private at Grand View Memorial Park in Glendale, Calif. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Great Bridge Chapel, is in charge of local arrangements.
