Because of a donor's gift, Norfolk Botanical Garden will offer free admission to the park, train and boat tours (water level permitting) on Sunday, just in time to view 250,000 rose blooms. The garden's 4,000 rose bushes will be reaching their peak.
The Bicentennial Rose Garden there is one of the largest on the East Coast and one of the top 10 in the country.
The donor offered free admission on Mother's Day, but the weather was rainy. Sunday is a second chance to see the show of rose blooms across three acres, in honor of the donor's mother's love of gardens.
Hours at the garden, on Azalea Garden Road, are 8:30 a.m. till sunset.
Tours run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Call 441-5830 for details. by CNB
