Harlin D. ``Sam'' Patrick, 59, of the 1300 block of Pea Ridge Road, died May 16, 1995, in Elizabeth City.
A native of Washington County, born Feb. 4, 1936, Mr. Patrick was the son of the late Harold W. Patrick and Mrs. Ola Chesson Patrick of the Pea Ridge Community, who survives. He was a charter member of the Mid-County Volunteer Fire Department, the Mid-County Ruritan Club, and had served as a deputy sheriff for both Washington and Tyrrell counties as well as being a local farmer.
Surviving besides his mother are one son, Jeff Collins of Roper; four daughters, Shelli Marslender of Raleigh, Tracey Phillips of Edenton, Kimberly and Samantha Patrick, both of Roper; three sisters, Rebecca Mautz of Chesapeake, Kaye Davenport of Suffolk and Lois Krawczyk of Roper; a stepson, Robert Armstrong of Roanoke Rapids; and four grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 11 a.m. at the Piney Grove Freewill Baptist Church, of which he was a member, with the Rev. Bill Gaylord assisted by Mr. Mark Woolard officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at Horner-Walker Funeral Home, from 7 to 9 p.m. today.
