EDDIE B. BROWN

Eddie Buster Brown, 63, of the 200 block of Thick Neck Road, died Thursday, May 18, 1995, in Chowan Hospital.

A native of Leo, S.C., he was the son of Mrs. Hester Poston Brown of Lake City, S.C., and the late Eddie Washington Brown. He was a Baptist Minister for the past 39 years and formerly pastored at Mt. Sinai Baptist Church in Hertford and Dotham Baptist Church in Dillon, S.C. More recently, he was owner and operator of E.B. Brown and Sons Contractors. He was a member of Edenton Baptist Church and was an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict.

Besides his mother, survivors include his wife, Joann Tompkins Brown; two sons, Clarence Edward Brown and Robert Eugene Brown, both of Edenton; and five sisters, Audrey Rogers and Hessie Bannon, both of Alexandria, Va., Mildred Carter of Bountiful, Utah, Verna Worthington of Garner and Janice Faye Clark of Danville, Calif.

The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday in Swindell Funeral Chapel, Hertford, with the Rev. T.E. Theiman and the Rev. Melvin Miller officiating. Burial will follow in Beaver Hill Cemetery, Edenton. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m.
