Zilla Smoak David, 69, of the 1000 block of Justis St., died May 19, 1995.
She was a native of Cope, S.C., and was the widow of Clyde F. David. She was retired from the Civil Service with over 20 years service. She was Baptist. She was the daughter of the late Lila and Eugene Smoak.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Pearl D. Beatty and John F. Beatty of Norfolk; two sisters, Frances Ann Sellers of Lakeland, Fla., and Margaret Mozelle Rogers of Charleston, S.C.; one brother, Jake M. Smoak of Charleston, S.C.; two grandchildren, William Terrell McMillam III and Katherine Paige McMillan, both of Norfolk; one aunt, Merle Flowers of Charleston, S.C.; and six nieces. She was predeceased by a brother, Claude Stuckey Smoak.
The graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will be at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel, Monday from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Hampton Roads Chapter, (NU)20 Koger Center, Suite 233, Norfolk, Va. 23502.
