ALEXANDER DEMPSEY

Alexander Dempsey, 71, of the 8000 block of Glade Road, died May 17, 1995, in a local hospital.

Mr. Dempsey was born in Belo, W.Va., and was the widower of Ruth J. Dempsey. He was retired from civil service at the NARF Riggers Shop and was also retired from the Navy. He was a member of Kermit Lodge (NU)167 AF & AM, Beni Kedem Shrine and the Virginia Police Association.

Survivors include three sisters, Octavia Cisco and Mae Varney, both of Coral Springs, Fla., and Allie Maynard of Paris, Texas; a brother, W.J. Dempsey of Winston-Salem, N.C.; three grandchildren, Kenneth Parker, DeAnna Parker and Kristin Parker and three great-grandchildren, Kenneth Parker, Brett Parker and Patricia Parker, all of Norfolk; and five nieces.

A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel, by the Rev. John D. Sykes. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday. A Masonic service will be held at the funeral home at 6:30 p.m. Sunday.
