There were errors in a MetroNews story May 12 about Suffolk

resident Robert V. Gallup, a nudist who was charged with indecent

exposure May 10.

The story incorrectly reported that, in an earlier case, he was

convicted of indecent exposure and received a 12-month suspended

jail sentence. Court records show that in that 1988 case, the judge

took the matter under advisement - agreeing to dismiss the charge if

Gallup had no offenses for 12 months. The charge was dismissed in

January 1990.

The story attributed the incorrect information to attorney Claude

Scialdone. In fact, he was not contacted about this latest charge

against Gallup. Although Scialdone has represented Gallup in other

cases, he did not do so in the 1988 case.

An obituary Thursday on Marie A. Tsitouris, 25, of Prince George

County was false. The obituary was confirmed by a caller who

identified himself as a representative of Bucktrout Funeral Home in

Williamsburg. Gary Henningers, manager of Bucktrout Funeral Home,

says his firm is unaware of the death of Marie A. Tsitouris and has

had no dealings with the Tsitouris family. A man who identified

himself as a brother of the deceased authorized the obituary.

Efforts to reach the family have been unsuccessful.

Identifications of a Cadillac Fleetwood and Buick Roadmaster were

reversed in a caption Friday in the Auto Weekly section.
