John Andrew ``Johnny'' O'Toole, 61, of the 200 block of W. Ottowa Rd., died May 15, 1995, in Portsmouth Naval Hospital.
He was a native of New York City, born January 1, 1934, and he was raised in Dublin, Ireland. He was a member of the Amphibious Base Chapel, Virginia Beach, and had served in the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He had also received several medals from those wars.
Survivors include his wife, Mary M. O'Toole; two daughters, Constance Grace Evans of Richmond, and Maureen T. Potteker of Virginia Beach; six sons, Dennis P., John A. Jr., Patrick J., Kevin B., Michael L., and Brian A. O'Toole, all of Virginia Beach; and 13 grandchildren; plus extended family in Ireland.
The funeral will be conducted at 12:45 p.m. Tuesday, May 23, in Ft. Myers Post Chapel. Burial will be in Arlington National Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the residence Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. Smith and Williams Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel, is handling the arrangements.
