Peggy Strickland Gallop, 51, of P.O. Box 362 Wanchese, died Friday, May 19, 1995, in a Chesapeake, Va hospital. Mrs. Gallop was born in Plymouth and was a homemaker. She was the daughter of the late Henry Thomas and Gussie Mae Bullock Strickland and the wife of William ``Bubba'' Gallop of the home.
Besides her husband surviving are one son, Garry Lancaster of Greenville, N.C.; two stepsons, Lee Gallop of Wanchese and David Tripp of Greenville, NC.; two sisters, Marcellen Coleman of Castle Haynes, N.C. and Betty Nichols of Bayboro, N.C.; three brothers, Ralph Strickland of Chesapeake, Va, Charles Strickland of Ayden, N.C. and Jerry Strickland of Greenville, N.C.; a grandchild, Jordan Cole Lancaster of Greenville, N.C. and a niece, Delores King of Ayden, N.C.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 23, 1995 at 3 p.m. in the Bethany United Methodist Church in Wanchese by the Rev. Billy Holliday. Burial will be in the Tillett Cemetery. Friends may join the family at Twiford Funeral Home Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. and at other times at the home of Bill and Lois Gallop in Wanchese. Twiford Colony Chapel Manteo is handling arrangements.
