Anne Wiersdorf Hamblin, 69, of the first block of Greenbrier Road, a retired medical supply supervisor, died May 20, 1995, in a local hospital.
Mrs. Hamblin was born in Tampa, Fla. She had retired from Portsmouth Naval Hospital and was a member of Westhaven Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Willie C. Hamblin; a daughter, Beth Butler Gilliam of Athens, Ga.; a daughter-in-law, Mary H. Froehlich of Portsmouth; a son, William E. Froehlich of Portsmouth; a stepson, Charles F. Butler of Poquoson, Va.; a son-in-law, John Thomas Gilliam of Athens, Ga.; a sister, Margaret Westbrook of Portsmouth; a brother-in-law, William B. Westbrook; a niece and her husband, Kendall and Carl Rhodes; grandchildren, Lt. Eric H. Froehlich U.S.A.F. of San Antonio, Texas, Julie F. Ray of Knoxville, Tenn., William Ross Froehlich of Portsmouth, Emily E. Froehlich of Portsmouth, Adam P. Froehlich of Portsmouth, John Thomas Gilliam of Athens, Ga., Charles Edward Gilliam of Athens, Ga., Joseph William Gilliam of Athens, Ga. and several stepchildren; and stepgrandchildren.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Snellings Funeral Home, Churchland Chapel. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 7 to 9 p.m. and other times at 3 North Drive, Portsmouth. Memorial donations may be sent to the American Cancer Society.
