Harold Verner, 78, of Virginia Beach, died May 21, 1995, in a local hospital.
Mr. Verner was a native of Montreal, Quebec. He was a member of Temple Emanuel in Virginia Beach. He was a graduate of Boston University. He owned and operated Verner Craft in Montreal, and served in World War II, as an Army intelligence Officer. He was a former merchandise manager for Hadly Finsertwall in Detroit and Savannah, Ga., and a general manager for Haynes Furniture Store, Crock and Levy, and a sales associate for Grand Furniture. He was a director for The USY Group, and the Men's Club in Savannah, Ga.
Survivors include his wife, Anne Verner; two daughters, Leslie Sharon Verner of Virginia Beach and Ellen Verner Tannenbaum of Greensboro, N.C.; a son, Charles Leon Verner of Pompano Beach, Fla.; and a son-in-law, Dr. Sigmund Ian Tannenbaum of Greensboro, N.C.
A chapel service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Tuesday, May 23, 1995, in H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, Norfolk, by Rabbi Lawrence A. Forman. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will be at the residence of Mrs. Anne Verner. Memorial donations may be made to The American Cancer Society, The American Heart Association, The American Lung Association or Hospice.
