GOVERNMENT IS THE ENEMY

Militias are getting a bad rap. They aren't all made up of raving, paranoid racists, although those groups obviously exist and those individuals do pollute our society with their hate-filled rhetoric. But that doesn't make all militia members wackos.

Every red-blooded, freedom-loving American should be ready and willing to fight and die for the personal liberty guaranteed us by our Constitution against all enemies, foreign or domestic. And right now, the greatest domestic enemy of our Constitution is not some wild-eyed maniac with a bomb, but the federal government itself.

The Constitution gives the federal government specific, well-defined and limited powers and states emphatically that all other powers remain the domain of the individual states. But Big Brother has overstepped its boundaries since 1933, which was the last year we had a constitutional form of government.

To say that anyone opposed to gun control, federal taxes and big government is part of the lunatic fringe is simply a display of ignorance.

Any man, or woman for that matter, who is not ready to defend his personal liberty (not civil - there's a difference) even against government goons is willingly foolish. And any man or woman who is not willing to take up arms to defend personal liberty does not deserve to enjoy that liberty. Move to Red China! It's time we the people have the courage to say, ``Big Brother, get back where you belong! Keep your nose out our business, your hand out of our pockets and your endless regulations off of our freedom.''

As one of the writers of that American document, the U.S. Constitution, stated, ``That government is best which governs least.''
