Doyle Rector Lynch died May 22, 1995.
Mr. Lynch had lived here the past 40 years. His life began in Danville, Va., on Oct. 3, 1916, where he lived the first half of his life. He was the son of the late Robert Lee and Willie Pettygrew Lynch. Mr. Lynch was a Baptist. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and a retired welder with Colonna's Shipyard.
He is survived by two sons, Richard E. Lynch and Hoyle R. Lynch, both of Knotts Island; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He was married to Christine Thompson.
A graveside service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Thursday, May 25, 1995, in Moyock Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Henry Napier officiating. Visitation will be at Twiford Colonial Chapel, Great Bridge, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today.
