NORMA H. BODE

Norma H. Bode, 79, died Monday, May 22, 1995, at Mitchell County Regional Health Center, Osage.

Norma was born November 23, 1915, in Norfolk, Virginia, the daughter of Henry and Mattie (Jones) Maifeld. She graduated from high school in Norfolk. Norma married Ralph G. Bode on October 29, 1945, in Norfolk. They lived on a farm east of Orchard until 1972 when they moved to Osage. She worked as a homemaker health care aide for 10 years. She was a member of the Christian Missionary Alliance Church, Orchard American Legion Auxiliary, and the Osage V.F.W. Auxiliary.

She is survived by her husband, Ralph Bode of Osage; a daughter, Jeanette Akin of Lakeville, Minn.; three sons, Edward Bode and wife Carol of Catawissa, Mo., Robert Bode of Osage, and David Bode and wife Marilyn of Orchard; a sister, Mattie McGrath of Norfolk; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents and her mother-in-law Eva E. Bode.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 24, 1995 at the Christian Missionary Alliance Church, Osage, with the Rev. Rick Magstadt officiating. Burial will be in Sunnyside Memory Gardens, Charles City. Visitation began after 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Champion Funeral Home, Osage.
