Eddie Elverd Martin, 68, of the 800 block of Denison Ave., a retired laborer, died May 20, 1995, in DePaul Medical Center.
Mr. Martin was born in Maysville, N.C., and retired six years ago from Addington & Beamon Lumber Co. He was a member of Zion Light Church of Christ in Norfolk.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth Martin; an adopted daughter, Veronica White of Norfolk; a stepson, Cornell Pettus of Norfolk; a brother, Ervin Martin of New York; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law and friends.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday in Zion Light Church of Christ, Norfolk, by Elder Best. Burial will be in Betty Jones Cemetery. Family and friends will be received at the residence and will assemble there at 12:15 p.m. for the procession to the church. Viewing will be at E.A. Hughes Funeral Home.
