Walter Jay Brown Jr., 88, died Tuesday in East Pavilion Nursing Home in Franklin, Va.
He was retired from 45 years association with Riverside, American Package and Georgia-Pacific Corporation in wood products manufacturing and sales in Murfreesboro, N.C.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Ellen H. Brown; sons, Walter J. Brown III of Murfreesboro and M. Howard Brown of Hilton Head Island, S.C.; daughters-in-law, Janice H. Brown and Carol S. Brown; and three grandchildren, Wade Harrell Brown, Walter J. Brown IV and Karen Elizabeth Brown; as well as several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in Cedar Grove Friends Cemetery, Woodland, N.C., by George Parker. The family will be at Garrett Funeral Home, Murfreesboro, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today.
