Janice M. Cartwright, 51, of Norfolk and Virginia Beach, died May 22, 1995.
Mrs. Cartwright was born in Muskegon, Mich., and was a magistrate for the Commonwealth of Virginia. She was the first woman criminal magistrate in the Commonwealth.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Tami M. and Patrick ``Ricky'' Araojo of Virginia Beach; and two brothers, Gerald C. Weaver of Virginia Beach and Dan Rop of Ocala, Fla. She is also survived by ``Mom and Pop'' Forbes of Muskegon, Mich.
She will always be the wind beneath our wings.
A memorial service will be conducted at 7 p.m. Thursday in Smith & Williams Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel, by the Rev. Clyde H. Johnson. Memorial donations may be made to the March of Dimes.
