John Wesley Grady Jr., 48, of Lake Drive, died May 21, 1995, in MCV Hospital, Richmond.
A native of Wilmington, N.C., he was the son of Celia Williams Grady of Wilmington, N.C., and the late John Wesley Grady Sr. He was retired from AT & T Telephone Co. and was a Navy veteran. Mr. Grady was a member of Mount Olive Baptist Church in East Orange, N.J.
In addition to his mother, survivors include his wife, Barbara Holloman Grady; six daughters, Nina Gray of Willingboro, N.J., Kimberly Grady, Cambie Edgerton and Dawn Edgerton, all of East Orange, N.J., Elizabeth Grady and Alzana Grady, both of Wakefield; two sons, Anwar Grady of East Orange and Tait Holloman of Wakefield; three sisters, Delores Powell and Lucretia Grady, both of Wilmington, and Joyce Tendler of Pleasant Point, N.J.; a brother, Gerald Grady of Roselle, N.J.; maternal grandmother, Louise Williams of Wilmington; four paternal uncles; three maternal uncles; two paternal aunts; three maternal aunts; and one maternal great-aunt.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in St. John AME Church, Wilmington, N.C., by the Rev. Jaunita David. Burial will be in the Grady Family Cemetery in Wilmington. A wake will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. today in Crocker Funeral Home, Suffolk.
