Fannie L. Burnett, 74, of the 1400 block of LaSalle Ave., died May 23, 1995 in Portsmouth General Hospital.
Mrs. Burnett was born in Demopolis, Ala. She was a retired beautician, a retired child-care provider, and was self-employed. She was a member of Mount Calvary Baptist Church, Pastors Aide, Willing Workers and Ways of Means Committee and was the widow of Percy E. Burnett, Sr. She was an Eastern Star and member of Ivory Ideal Tents (NU)622, Order of Tents.
Survivors include two daughters, Doris A. Sparrow and Gertrude Y. Booth, both of Portsmouth; two sons, Percy E. Burnett Jr., of Newport News and Robert C. Burnett of Portsmouth; a sister, Gertrude Jackson of Compton, Calif.; 15 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one uncle and aunt-in-law, Charles Green and Olivia Green of Amityville, N.Y.; and nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at Mount Calvary Baptist Church, Portsmouth, by the Rev. William S. Hampton. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park. Viewing at Corprew Funeral Home will begin at 10 a.m. Friday. The body will be taken to the church at 10 a.m. Saturday. The family will be at the home of Gertrude Booth, 1306 Lakeview Drive, Portsmouth, and will assemble there for the funeral service.
