Johnnie Pierce Sr., 77, of the 1400 block of Anne Ave., a retired longshoreman, died May 24, 1995, in a Chesapeake hospital.
Mr. Pierce was born in Currituck, N.C., and was the widower of Ruth Elizabeth Pierce. He was retired from Local (NU)970, International Longshoreman's Association and was a member of Southside Hunt Club in South Mills, N.C. He was an Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Johnny Jr. and Eleanor S. Pierce of Chesapeake; a brother, Elwood Pierce of Chesapeake; two grandchildren, Brian K. Pierce and Mary Beth Pierce, both of Chesapeake.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in Forest Lawn Cemetery by the Rev. Gary McClenney. The family will receive friends at Graham Funeral Home, South Norfolk Chapel, from 7 to 8 p.m. today.
