FEDERAL BUILDING IN RICHMOND EVACUATED AFTER BOMB THREAT

A telephoned bomb threat Wednesday prompted the evacuation of Richmond's federal building.

State troopers with bomb-sniffing dogs searched the building but found no bomb, said John Thompson, a federal spokesman in Philadelphia.

Federal workers, who were evacuated about 11:30 a.m., began going back inside about 1:15 p.m., he said. Thompson is with the General Service Administration's regional office.

The FBI alerted his office after receiving the threat from someone who claimed affiliation with a Texas militia, Thompson and a local FBI spokesman said.
