HOUSTON ASHWORTH

Houston Ashworth, 82, of Yardley, Pa., died Thursday, May 18, 1995 in the Attleboro Nursing Center in Langhorne, Pa.

Born in Victoria, Lunenburg, County Va., and formerly of Norfolk, Va., he had been a Yardley resident for the past 37 years.

Mr. Ashworth retired in 1983 as regional sales manager of Stokely-Van Camp/Quaker Oats.

He was graduated from the College of William and Mary, Class of 1941, and served as a captain in the U.S. Army during World War II.

He was a member of the New York Sales Executives Association, the Rotary Club of Trenton (N.J.) and was past president of the Toastmasters Club.

Mr. Ashworth is survived by his wife, Joan Dugan Ashworth; two daughters, Joanna Ashworth of Charlotte, N.C., and Donna Ashworth of Conway, Mass.; two brothers, Edwin Ashworth of Tiffin, Ohio and Murraylee Ashworth of Excelsior Springs, Mo.; and three grandchildren, Colin Walls and Alissa and Maureen Correll.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 11 a.m. in the Holy Trinity Church, Morrisville Pa. Burial will be in the Maryrest Cemetery, Darlington, N.J. Friends may call on Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Fitzgerald-Sommer Funeral Home, 17 S. Delaware Avenue (River Road) Yardley.
