Thomas Whitaker of Colington, in his first season with Sea Dreams, sailed the 23-foot Beneteau to victory in the second race of the Roanoke Island Yacht Club's summer series.
Second in the 5.3-mile race in light air was Pete Hunter on his 26-foot Tripp, Nineoneone, and third went to Shawn Murphy aboard Seabird, a 30-foot hunter.
The club will sail to Elizabeth City on June 2 for a June 3 race against members of the Pasquotank River Yacht Club. by CNB
