THURSDAY
IS JOHN BERRY GOOD, or what? An impressed writer in the mag, ``Country Song Roundup'' said, ``it would be next to impossible to find a more talented vocalist in country music today.''
Will you be equally impressed? Find out when he shows up at the Naval Amphibious Base's Planet Beach Club at 8 p.m. Thursday. Tickets are $10 in advance at Ticketmaster, $12 if you buy when you show up.
The Berry-good hits include ``Your Love Amazes Me'' and ``Standing on the Edge of Goodbye.'' By the way, he was on Star Search in 1991, losing to an insurance adjuster who is probably still adjusting insurance.
Berry is adjusting to stardom. He's a hot property.

TONIGHT
HERE'S YOUR CHANCE to ask that moody Ray Pruitt character on ``Beverly Hills 90210'' why he's been so mean to his virginal squeeze, the thin, blonde and patient Donna. Pruitt is a pumpkin farmer turned musician who makes hearts flutter at The Peach Pit After Dark. In real life, Jamie Walters is indeed a singer with a hit single, ``Hold On,'' that has reached No. 19 on the Billboard charts.
Walters appears at 5:15 tonight at Ocean Breeze Festival Park, 849 General Booth Blvd. in Virginia Beach with Dana Buckman and Steve Johnson. Admission is $1, benefitting Ronald McDonald House in Norfolk. Gates open at 3, and there is an autograph session scheduled for 4 p.m.
