Sherman Franklin Hoggard, 74, of the 4900 block of Briarwood Lane, a mechanical foreman, died May 28, 1995, in Portsmouth.
Mr. Hoggard was a native of Portsmouth. He was employed with Seaboard-Coast Line Railroad for 45 years. He was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church, Tidal Wave Masonic Lodge 273 and Port Norfolk Royal Arch Chapter 36, and was an Army veteran of WWII.
Survivors include his wife, Bertha Eaton Hoggard; a son, Charles Sherman Hoggard and wife, Donna, of Tarpon Springs, Fla.; and two grandchildren, Donnie Hoggard of Tarpon Springs and Charles S. Hoggard Jr. and wife, Bonnie, of Monroe, N.C.
The funeral with Masonic rites will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Loving Funeral Home by the Rev. Donald Seely and the Rev. Clara Gestwick. Entombment will be in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be today from 7 to 8 p.m. in the funeral home.
