Blanche N. Smith, 87, of the 4300 block of Blackbeard Road, died May 27, 1995, in a Virginia Beach hospital.
Mrs. Smith was born in Portsmouth. She was the widow of Walter M. Smith and was a Catholic.
Survivors include a daughter, Martha J. Thereault of Virginia Beach; two sons, Joseph P. Joyce of Dallas, Texas, and James T. Smith of Fairfax, Va.; and five grandchildren, Travis Thereault of Virginia Beach, Peter Smith of Richmond, Kevin Smith, Mark Smith and Jeremy Smith, all of Fairfax.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Baylake United Methodist Church by the Rev. Amy Daniels. Burial will be in Princess Anne Memorial Park. The family will be at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Bayside Chapel, Tuesday from 7 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to the Tidewater Down Syndrome Association or to the S.P.C.A.
