Edna Thompson Rivenbark, 80, died May 27, 1995, in Suffolk, Va.
A native of Watha, N.C., she resided in Wilmington, N.C., and Lexington, N.C., before moving to Suffolk in 1992. She was a graduate of Burgaw High School, Burgaw, N.C., and an alumna of East Carolina University. At the time of her retirement, she was employed in retail management. She was a member of North Lexington Baptist Church. She was pre-deceased by her parents, Willis and Ruby Thompson, and her brothers, J.D. and Earl Thompson.
Mrs. Rivenbark is survived by her husband, David C. Rivenbark Sr.; two daughters and their husbands, Jackie and Roger Heines, of Virginia Beach, and Joanne and Tom Willis, of Newport News; two sons, David C. Rivenbark Jr. and his wife, Tillie, of Suffolk, and Don Rivenbark of Greensboro. Survivors also include seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two nieces; and one nephew.
The family will receive visitors at Padgett Funeral Home, Wallace, N.C., on Monday, May 29, 1995, from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 30, 1995, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of the funeral home, with the Rev. Robert Earl Thompson, nephew of the deceased, officiating. Burial will follow in Riverview Memorial Park, Watha, N.C. Memorials may be made to the Building Fund of North Lexington Baptist Church, 201 Mize Road, Lexington, N.C. 27292 or the Alzheimer's Association, 20 Koger Center, Suite 233, Norfolk, Va. 23502.
