Congratulations to Mayor Paul Fraim and the Norfolk City Council for driving a spike through the heart of ``regionalism'' with their attempt to scuttle the Gaston pipeline. Their desire to have the Beach pay a $495 million ``ransom'' over 32 years is beyond belief.
I wish Norfolk luck with Waterside, Nauticus, Military Circle and proposed new superstores. It will be a cold day in Hades before I will spend another dollar in Norfolk; and from conversations with friends, I expect tens of thousands of others to share this feeling.
