Julia Barnes Mounie, 77, of the 2900 block of East Point Drive, died May 29, 1995, in a Portsmouth hospital.
Mrs. Mounie, a native of Portsmouth, retired from State Farm Insurance Co. as a secretary. She was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church and was a volunteer at Maryview Hospital. She was the widow of Charles R. Mounie.
Survivors include a daughter, Juliette Mounie Query, and her husband, Norman Query of Chesapeake; five grandchildren, Dawn Younkins, and her husband, David Younkins, Christopher, Stephen, Shannon and Michael Query; two great-grandchildren, Nicholas and Jeffrey Younkins; a brother, Alfred C. Barnes of Encinitas, Calif.; two sisters, Geneva Stratman of Hamilton, Ohio, and Jean Lawrence of Millbrook, Ala.
A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday, June 2, in St. Paul's Catholic Church by the Rev. Joseph Slowik. Burial will be in Portsmouth Catholic Cemetery. A Christian Wake service will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday at Foster Funeral Home, Portsmouth.
