WILBERT A. OVERBY

Wilbert Alexander Overby of the 4000 block of Bluestone Ave., a retired truck driver, died May 25, 1995, in Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.

Mr. Overby was born in Chesapeake and was a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church, Berkley. He was retired from Tank Lines Inc. after 18 years and was a veteran of the Korean Conflict.

Survivors include his wife, Rosa Lee Overby; three daughters, Kimberly D. Overby, Dawn R. Overby, both of Norfolk, and Janice Overby Thomas of Chesapeake; a son, Wilbert Alexander Overby Jr. of Yonkers, N.Y.; his mother, Sallie Overby and father, Eliston Overby, both of Chesapeake; a sister, Beryl O. Howcott of Chesapeake; three brothers, Eliston Overby Jr. of Norfolk, Gerald Overby of Chesapeake and Darryl Overby of Cranbury, N.J.; and seven grandchildren.

A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in Mount Zion Baptist Church, Berkley, by Dr. Charles Hart. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. Carlos A. Howard Funeral Home is handling arrangements. The remains will be ready for viewing at 3 p.m. today. The body will be taken to church at 9 a.m. Thursday. The family will assemble at the residence at 10 a.m. for the processional.
