The articles about the tolls being removed from the Virginia Beach-Norfolk Expressway have been very one-sided and negative. Your staff writer has presented no facts, only opinions that support any negative view of this event.
The people who have been responsible for getting the tolls taken off have been completely ignored. Pat Murphy, Frank Wagner, Howard Copeland and Secretary of Transportation Martinez have been left out. You do readers a disservice when you slant reports in this manner.
Long-time readers such as I wonder if you really aren't biased in your news reporting. I was around when they put the tolls on the road and the politicians promised, ``When the road is paid for, we'll remove the tolls.''
Taking the tolls off is a good thing, but you'd never know it reading your paper. How about the other side of the story on this one so that those of us who read the paper every day can make up our own minds?
