Elsie M. Allen, 81, of the 3900 block of Llewellyn Ave., died May 31, 1995.
Miss Allen, a native of Belhaven, N.C., was the daughter of Joseph M. Allen Sr. and Eva Wilkinson Allen. She retired from the Elizabeth River Tunnel Commission as a comptroller after 25 years. She was a member of Park View Christian Church and was a past president of the Portsmouth Pilot Club.
Survivors include a sister, Helen Allen Romm of Norfolk; a brother, Col. Robert W. Allen (Ret.) of San Antonio, Texas; two nieces, Gayle Ferebee Donovan of Norfolk, Barbara Jo Fyffe of Orlando, Fla.; two nephews, Emory Cook Ferebee of Norfolk, Lt. Col. Robert W. Allen Jr. of England; and several great-nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, June 2, in Olive Branch Cemetery, Portsmouth, by Revs. Robert and Marilyn Danner. The family will receive friends today from 3 to 4 p.m. at Foster Funeral Home, Portsmouth. Memorial donations may be made to Park View Christian Church, 3201 Western Branch Blvd., Chesapeake, Va. 23321.
