Howard W. Tiller, 71, of the Loxley section of Chesapeake, died May 31, 1995, in a local hospital.
Born in Irvington, Va., he retired in 1985 as an ordnance machinist from the Norfolk Naval Shipyard. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Zola B. Tiller; two daughters, Mary Phennette Locklear of Chesapeake and Joyce Ann Summers of Portsmouth; three sons, Billy Smith of Andger, N.C., Ted C. Smith of Suffolk and Douglas F. Smith of Orlando, Fla.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens by the Rev. T.M. Frye. The family will receive friends at Snellings Funeral Home, George Washington Highway Chapel, from 6 to 8 p.m. today.
