In the second region semifinal, First Colonial's Steve Tyler, the No. 9 hitter in the Patriots' order, hit a two-run home run in the bottom of the seventh as First Colonial pulled out a 9-8 victory over Tabb.
Both winners earn spots in the Group AAA tournament. For First Colonial, it's the fifth consecutive trip to state - and the fourth time in those five years in which the Patriots won a regional playoff game in its last at-bat. MEMO: Story, Page C6
