James Quincy Henderson Sr., 81, died May 31, 1995, in Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.
Mr. Henderson was born in Hertford County, N.C., and was a retired painter.
Survivors include his wife, Julia Vaughan Henderson; three daughters, Jenny H. Hagen of Daytona Beach, Fla., Emily H. Ferreira of Orlando, Fla., and Julia Frances Morecraft of Key West, Fla.; one sister, Edith Lovett of St. Petersburg, Fla.; one half sister, Clara Worrell of Suffolk; three half-brothers, Ralph Stradley, Bobby Stradley and Charles Stradley, all of Franklin; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sons, James Henderson Jr. and Fred G. Henderson.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in Holland-Rideout Funeral Home, Franklin, by Rev. Ira D. Hudgins. Burial will be in Southampton Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today and at 109 North Drive, Franklin, at other times.
