Essie Grimes, 91, of the 1300 block of Kempsville Road, died May 27, 1995, in a local hospital.
Mrs. Grimes was born in Norfolk County and was the widow of Frank Grimes. She was a member of New St. Mark Apostolic Church of God.
Survivors include one grandson; six great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; one great-great-great-grandchild; three nieces; and one nephew, all of Chesapeake.
A funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday in New St. Mark Apostolic Church of God by Rev. James Smith. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park. Family and friends will assemble at noon Saturday at 205 Fernwood Farms Road, Chesapeake, for the processional to the church. Metropolitan Funeral Service is in charge.
