A full house at Willett Hall for the Air Combat Command Heritage of America Band was a good example of what happens when you keep plugging away at a good thing.
Over the past season, a series of military band concerts at Willett have drawn enthusiastic audiences made up of people from a wide area of Virginia. Each time the numbers have increased visibly. By Friday night, the place was full to the top of the balcony.
Listening to strangers talk as they leave the hall after their first visit, you hear nothing but good comments about the auditorium. The military bands have been an excellent vehicle to spread the good word about Willett, a hall as good as any in Hampton Roads and better than most auditoriums anywhere.
The only way to overcome misguided notions about Portsmouth and its wonderful assets, such as Willett, is to keep going to first-rate activities.
The packed house last Friday night was testimony that people will come to recognize a good thing. by CNB
