HEALTH CENTER TRIBUTE TO HARD WORK

Portsmouth's new Community Health Center is open - ``a dream come true,'' said Dr. Veneta Newby-Owens, the city's public health director.

A lot of good people worked long and hard to provide reasonable health care for all the citizens of this city.

Although the facility is funded by a federal grant, somebody had to get it together. Portsmouth was late coming to this point, but now it has one of the finest community health centers anywhere, thanks to a hard-working group of citizens determined in this quest. by CNB
