Winford Floyd Lamb, Sr., ``Bishop Lamb,'' 78, of the 1800 block of Cullen Ave., a retired longshoreman, died May 31, 1995 in his home.
Mr. Lamb was born in Camden, N.C. He was the widower of Odessa Walston Lamb, was bishop and overseer of The Guiding Light Apostolic Church of Christ in Portsmouth and North Carolina and a member of Longshoreman's Local 1248.
Survivors include four daughters, Loretta Matilda McDonald of Philadelphia, Pa., Ethel Reby Scott of Baltimore, Md., Odessa Virginia Morris of Upper Marlboro, Md., and Rachel Elizabeth Quinnie of Chesapeake; three sons, Winford Floyd Lamb, Jr., of Upper Marlboro, Md., Daniel Earl Lamb of Virginia Beach and Rev. Joseph Edward Lamb, Sr. of Arlington, Va.; a sister, Edna Banks of Southampton, N.Y.; a brother, Grady Lamb of East Elmhurst, N.Y.; 21 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Bellcross, N.C. A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. today at The Guiding Light Apostolic Church of Christ, 115 Cavalier Ave., Portsmouth. Arrangements by Pretlow and Sons Funeral Home. ILLUSTRATION: Photo
