CRIME LINE

Local police are asking public assistance in solving these cases:

VIRGINIA BEACH

On Tuesday, May 23, about 2:30 a.m., a 25-year-old man was walking to his car on Shoreham Court near 19th Street when he was approached from behind by four men. One of the men struck him in the face and took the bag he was carrying.

A few minutes later, a 28-year-old man was attacked on 22nd Street near Parks Avenue. He was struck in the head with a bottle several times and robbed of $9.

Police are looking for four or five black men, all in their late teens or early 20s, who were seen leaving both attacks in a white or light gray Ford Tempo or Mercury Topaz.

One of the men involved in the robberies is shown in the composite.

CHESAPEAKE

On May 21, about midnight, a Chanello's Pizza driver was making a delivery in the 2500 block of Crestwood Lane when he was approached by several men.

The subjects questioned the driver about the price of the pizza and subsequently struck him in the head with a bottle. The assailants then took the pizza and ran from the scene.

The victim was transported to Chesapeake General Hospital where he received treatment for a laceration over his left eye.

The only description of the assailants was that all were black.

SUFFOLK

On the weekend of May 14, burglars broken into a home in the 500 block of Kilby Ave. They broke in through a rear door and cut the telephone wires outside the house.

The thieves took several items, including a 19-inch Zenith color television, a JVC VCR, a 19-inch black-and-white television and assorted jewelry.

HAMPTON

Beginning at 9 p.m. Saturday, May 27, four 7-Eleven convenience stores were robbed in as many hours. The same man is believed responsible for all the robberies.

In each case, the robber entered the store armed with a handgun and demanded money from a clerk.

The robber is described as black, about 30, with a thin mustache, 5 feet 7 inches tall, with a medium build. He was wearing a white T-shirt and black jeans. ILLUSTRATION: Drawing
