CAREER TRACK

ARCHITECTURE

Lawrence Weinstein joined Hargrove, Brockwell & Associates Ltd. in Virginia Beach as a project architect. Weinstein has more than 22 years of architectural experience, and was a partner and principal of Weinstein & Associates (formerly Weinstein Parker Architects) in Norfolk.

BANKING

Robert L. Freeman Jr. was appointed to the advisory board of directors with Crestar Bank in Newport News. Freeman is a partner with the law firm of Jones, Blechman, Woltz and Kelly in Newport News.

The Naval Air Federal Credit Union in Virginia Beach promoted Diane Osborne from operations manager to director of operations, and Kevin Zywna from the Newtown Road branch manager to facilities manager in Virginia Beach.

The credit union also appointed Elisa L. Hartman director of retail/sales administration. Hartman was vice president and Peninsula regional manager with Cenit Bank.

ENGINEERING

Maguire Associates Inc. in Virginia Beach promoted the following three associates to principals of its firm: Michael S. Bumbaco and Frederick M. Muncy, civil engineers, joined the firm in 1987 and 1983, respectively. And, Myles A. Pocta, who has a master's degree in oceanography, joined Maguire in 1988.

Mark D. Jamison was appointed an associate with the architectural firm of Hayes, Seay, Mattern & Mattern Inc. in Virginia Beach. Jamison joined the firm in 1992, and is the head of the company's civil engineering department for the Tidewater region. He holds a master's degree in civil engineering.

HOSPITALITY

Tammy Barber was appointed corporate sales manager with Doubletree Club Hotel in the Military Circle Shopping Center in Norfolk. Barber was the reseller sales manager with PageNet of Tennessee in Nashville.

MANUFACTURING

Charles Cortellini was named chief operating officer with First Colony Coffee & Tea Co. Inc. in Norfolk. He will be responsible for manufacturing, green coffee purchasing, and quality assurance.

Cortellini joined the coffee industry in 1976 with Hills Bros. Coffee Inc. He joined Chock Full O'Nuts in 1992 as director of manufacturing and became a vice president in 1994.

First Colony was bought by an investment group headed by Joseph A. Breslin and a Colombian cooperative in April. Breslin now serves as president and chief executive officer of First Colony.

REAL ESTATE

Michael B. Walker was appointed leasing representative for the Military Circle Mall in Norfolk. He will handle both leasing and merchandising. Walker held the same position for Koll Companies in Chicago.

Urban Retail Properties Co. manages the mall.

Judith Forsyth was appointed director of the relocation department with GSH Real Estate.

Forsyth owned and operated a management consulting firm in California.

LAW

The International Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers admitted W. Brantley Basnight III as a fellow. Basnight is a shareholder with the law firm of Wolcott, Rivers, Wheary, Basnight & Kelly.

ORGANIZATIONS

Susan Turner was elected president of the Tidewater chapter of the Professional Secretaries International. Turner is with Virginia Power.

RETAILS

Frank Doczi was elected to the board of directors of Dollar Tree Stores Inc. in Norfolk. Doczi is president and chief executive officer with HQ Home Quarters Warehouse in Virginia Beach.
