BODY FOUND

Police reported Hampton's seventh homicide of the year Sunday morning after a body was discovered in the 1300 block of La Salle Ave., spokesman Donnie Moore said.

The body of Richard A. Sharps, 39, was found by a private security guard behind the Hampton Community Services Center about 3:45 a.m., Moore said.

Sharps appeared to have suffered some type of head trauma and police have requested an autopsy, he said.
