Chief Tommy K. Denton, U.S. Navy (Ret.), 53, of Virginia Beach, died June 4, 1995, in his residence.
Mr. Denton was born in Richmond, Ind. He served his country for 20 years and was a veteran of the Vietnam War and worked as a project manager for I.T.S.
A gentle, affectionate husband, father, son, brother and friend, Mr. Denton is survived by his beloved wife, Roseanne Denton; three sons, Kenneth Thomas Denton and Ronald Michael Darata, both of Virginia Beach, Paul Keith Denton of Texas; two daughters, Deborah D. Scheible of Virginia Beach, Kimberly D. Grant of California; his mother, Daisey T. Denton of Richmond, Ind.; a brother, Ronnie Denton of Richmond, Ind.; three grandchildren, Morgan Renea Scheible, Cody Paul Denton, Lauren Celestle Grant, who deeply loved and adored him; and a host of nieces and nephews, who will miss him greatly.
A Mass of the Resurrection will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday in Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Virginia Beach by Father Thomas Caroluzza. Burial will be in Eastern Shore Chapel Cemetery in Virginia Beach with military honors. Visitation will be Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. in H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Laskin Road Chapel.
