Sarah Leigh Cason Newton, 78, of the 1900 block of Mediterranean Ave., died Sunday, June 4, 1995, in Virginia Beach General Hospital. A native of Norfolk, she was a life-long resident of Virginia Beach. She was the widow of William J. Newton II.
Mrs. Newton is survived by one son, William J. Newton III of Satellite, Fla.; two sisters, Virginia C. Tillett of Virginia Beach and Frances Isor of Abington, Va.; one granddaughter, Sarah D. Newton of Atlantic Beach, N.C.; and one grandson, Chase Thornton of Virginia Beach.
A funeral service will be conducted Wednesday, June 7th, at 2 p.m. in Maestas Funeral Home Baltic Avenue Chapel by the Rev. Clarke L. Mindigo. Burial will follow in Willowood Cemetery, Sandbridge Road, Virginia Beach. The family will be at the residence of her sister, Mrs. Virginia Tillett, 145 Pinewood Road, Virginia Beach, 23451. Memorial donations may be made to the Virginia Beach Rescue Squad Building Fund, P.O. Box 945, Virginia Beach, 23451.
