TEENAGER SHOT

A 15-year-old Norfolk youth was wounded by gunshots Monday morning, and police were looking for a 14-year-old suspect.

Demond Snowden, of the 1700 block of Campostella Road, suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was taken to a local hospital, police spokesman Larry Hill said. He underwent surgery and was listed in serious but stable condition Monday afternoon.

Police would not say what type of gun was used or how many times Snowden was shot.

The shooting occurred about 9:41 a.m. in the 1700 block of Vernon Drive in the Diggs Town area, Hill said. Police secured petitions for the 14-year-old, charging him with malicious wounding and use of a firearm.

Because of his age, police did not release the name of the suspect. The shooting apparently stemmed from a dispute, police said.
